Cooperative Teams Together

Term 1

Primary 7a have had a fantastic first term and have settled quickly into their new roles. We are enjoying developing our capacity as responsible citizens through monitoring and buddying. Primary 7a endeavour always to be quality role models.

This term we have developed our knowledge of Health and Well-being through our Dragons' Den topic. Following the success of the Kickstart team last session, we have been working hard to devise our fitness classes. In cooperative teams we have had lots of fun choreographing dances and exploring different circuits. In Literacy, we have improved our skills in using persuasive techniques by writing to local businesses for donations. Considering our layout and audience has enabled us to create attractive posters for our Kickstart fitness classes.

We have really enjoyed our challenging experiments in Science and Mrs Grey has taught us lots of facts about rocks and soils through our Structure of the Earth topic. In art we experimented with primary and secondary colours to produce the Om symbol. Designing Mendhi patterns using a paint and scratch technique was very effective and are on display on our classroom door.

Primary 7a have been fortunate to participate in weekly rugby lessons this term and have developed their skills in tackling, shooting and safety. Miss McCurdy has been very impressed with our confidence on high apparatus in gymnastics and we've had great fun developing our jumps, leaps and tumbles.

After a busy first term, Primary 7a are looking forward to a well-earned break. We hope everyone enjoys their September weekend.
