Term 3

Primary 7a

What an eventful term it has been in Primary 7a. After weeks of hard work, we revealed our excellent work on World War 2 to our parents and families at our Open Evening. Miss McCurdy was so impressed with the high standards in learning we achieved. We really enjoyed working collaboratively with our partners to create our Anderson Shelters. Using our planning and design skills, we were able to produce 3D designs. In literacy we produced newspaper articles, biographies and poems. Our favourite piece of writing was our Evacuee Diaries, were we applied adjectives and emotive language to evoke reader reaction. Through Numeracy, we developed our skills in measuring by weighing rationed goods, reading scales and designing victory gardens. It was terrific to have the opportunity to showcase our learning and we would like to extend a huge thank you to our family and friends for all their support in preparing for our Open Evening.

Our trip to Paisley Museum this term gave us the chance to enrich our learning, while exploring some genuine WW2 artefacts.
We were delighted to be invited to Arkleston Primary School for the Annual Rotary Quiz. Congratulations to our fantastic quiz team and their mascot:The Kirky Croc.
We can't believe that next term is our last at Kirklandneuk Primary! Primary 7 have so much to look forward to next term, including: Our Residential/Activity week, I'm a Primary 7: Get Me Out of Here, Transition Programme and Leavers' Assembly/Dance. However, before this excitement commences, Miss McCurdy thinks Primary 7 deserves a well earned break.
We wish all our friends and families a wonderful break!
